P6 STEM Day
P6 had fun learning about forces and airflow. They started by making rocket propelled mice. We discovered that mice made to the matching size of the bottle with a vacuum inside travel the furthest.
We have been learning about global warming and how we can prevent the harmful effects it has on our planet. For example, Monsoon climates are now more extreme as a result of climate change, bringing serious flooding or drought. On Friday we learnt about Monsoon rain and how people have to adapt to this weather system. The childrens’ task was to build a sturdy waterproof shelter that could recycle rainwater in the wet season, which could then be used in the season of drought that usually follows.
The class were very creative with the materials allowed and produced a super shelter. Well done P6!
