On Thursday, P5 had their final Shared Education session with the P5/6 class from St Trea’s. Over the course of the six sessions, the children learned, played and worked together to great effect. Twelve lessons were planned to develop children’s skills in Numeracy, Literacy, Art, PDMU and PE.
In Numeracy, the children completed problem-solving activities to develop their understanding of area. In Literacy, the children studied some the features of poetry, including alliteration, onomatopoeia, similes and rhyme, before writing their own poems. The Art lesson involved the children studying the work of an American artist Georgia O’Keefe before they created their own drawings, using her images as stimulus. For the PE series of lessons, basketball and tag rugby were the themes. Three lessons in each sport allowed the children to develop their skills and everyone had great fun.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and participated so well, learning and developing skills and understanding across the curriculum. A big thank you to Mrs Troy for all her hard work and planning, and to St.Trea’s for facilitating us.
