P4 have been finding out about how to measure the length of things. They started by using metre sticks and then they used rulers and measuring tapes. They learnt that there is 100cm in a metre and 50cm in half a metre. They learnt to measure smaller things in centimetres.
Then they worked in groups to make waistcoats for soldiers, as their topic is World War Two. They measured across the shoulders and down each others’ backs. They cut out the waistcoats and stuck them together and then decorated them with pockets and medals.
