Yesterday P4 went on their class trip. They were treated like VIPs at the Magherafelt Council offices, being shown around and getting to talk to some of the Councillors in their chambers. They were able to experience where the Councillors sit and asked questions. They were particularly interested in recycling, updating Magherafelt’s park and even asked for a new P5 classroom for our school!
Then they were taken on a tour of the Recycling Centre by John, who talked about the importance of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.
Lunch was spent in a beautiful office where the children were given drinks and treats.
The children learnt a lot and were a credit to our school. They were then treated to a fun afternoon in Meadowbank, and then back to school for ice cream!
A huge thank you to everyone at the Council for arranging a very enjoyable morning.
